  • 2015 Youth Exchange

This year, we have two students coming from Germany to spend time with our American students. Melanie Gerstner, 16, and Nathalie Tremel, 16, will arrive in Vandalia on March 21 and stay until April 13. Harvey and Kelly sat down and interviewed two prospective families to host this year. Both families are eager to participate in the exchange. The host students in Vandalia that we have chosen are Kathryn Link, 16, and Karli Gibson, 15. Some of you may know Melanie Gerstner. She has been to Vandalia many times before and her father is the President of Sister Cities in Lichtenfels. Melanie has hosted a student from France and her sister, Eileen, hosted a student from Vandalia two years ago. Nathalie, however, has never been to America, but she has been an exchange student in England and Italy. She is very excited to see what America is all about! We would like to invite you to meet the host families and the German students at the Welcome Dinner. It will be held on Sunday March 22nd at Christy’s Pizza, across from the high school. We hope to see you there!
