Vandalia Sister Cities Scholarships were awarded to four graduating seniors on May 21 during the annual Butler High School awards program. The $2,000 Walter Lakin scholarship went to Elaine Miller, who intends to major in nursing at either Ohio State or Kent State University. Three other scholarships for $1,000 each were presented to each of the following: Christopher Lewis, Steven Lewis. Christopher Lewis plans to major in International Business at Ohio University or Cornell. Steven Lewis will major in Business at Marquette University and Alexxis Pace will major in Nursing at Mount St. Joseph University. Funding for the Vandalia Sister Cities Scholarship program comes from our annual Oktoberfest. The four scholarship recipients and their families have been invited to attend our Welcome Dinner at Meadowbrook on May 31 to receive their scholarship checks. Last years scholarship recipients, eligible for renewed funds, have also been invited. Plan to attend to meet these accomplished students and wish them well as they begin the next phase of their education. Ed Rapp, Scholarship Chairperson
